Vocabulaire de l'école et des loisirs

At school, you study many subjects: English, Maths, History, Science, Art, Music, and PE (Physical Education). You have lessons in different places: the classroom, the library, the gym, the playground, and the canteen. Your teacher gives you a timetable to know your schedule. Don't be late for school!

In your schoolbag, you have a pencil case with pens, pencils, a rubber, a sharpener, and a ruler. You also need exercise books, textbooks, and a diary. A calculator is useful for Maths, and a highlighter helps you mark important words. A glue stick is great for crafts.

After school, you can do many activities. You can play sports like football, basketball, tennis, or swimming. You can also play an instrument like the guitar or the piano. Some people like reading books, watching TV, playing video games, or listening to music. Hobbies are important to relax and have fun.

To talk about your hobbies, use: I love, I like, I don't like, I hate + verb-ing. For example: I love reading comics. I like playing the guitar. I don't like doing homework. I hate getting up early. You can also ask: 'What do you like doing in your free time?'
