A CV (Curriculum Vitae) is a document that summarizes your education, work experience, skills, and achievements. In English, it's often called a 'resume' in the US. For a pre-vocational student, it should highlight your school projects, internships, and any part-time jobs. Keep it clear, well-organized, and no longer than one page. Use simple, direct language and avoid long paragraphs.

Start with your personal details: name, phone number, email, and city. Then add sections: 'Education' (school name, dates, diploma), 'Work Experience' (job title, company, dates, tasks), 'Skills' (languages, computer skills), and 'Interests'. Use action verbs like 'assisted', 'organized', or 'prepared'. Write dates in the British format (e.g., September 2023) or American format (e.g., September 2023). Be consistent.

A cover letter is a short letter that accompanies your CV. It introduces you and explains why you are a good fit for the job. The structure: your address, the date, the employer's address, a subject line, a polite greeting, 3-4 paragraphs, and a closing. The first paragraph states the job you are applying for. The middle paragraphs explain your skills and experience. The last paragraph asks for an interview.

Use formal but friendly language. Start with 'I am writing to apply for the position of...'. In the second paragraph, connect your skills to the job: 'During my internship at..., I developed...'. Show enthusiasm: 'I am very interested in this opportunity because...'. End with 'I look forward to hearing from you' and your signature. Always proofread for spelling and grammar mistakes.
